When you open up a new project this screen shows up :

The Top Bar is where all our most useful commands are :

You will be using this to set the BPM (Tempo), Change the Key, and most importantly to record.

Engaging this Keyboard button will allow you to use your computer keyboard to play notes.
This is what your grid looks like. All MIDI and Audio data when recorded will show up here. The indicators on the timeline show the measure.

When the red ribbon on the top of the bar is bright, it means that the section will loop.

We can also drag and drop files from our desktop into Bandlab. This feature is super useful when working with audio recordings you’ve created elsewhere.

The MIDI editor is used to draw in notes manually or to edit notes played on our MIDI compatible keyboard.
